MYNDSNARE SIGN TO DEMONSTEALER RECORDS
Myndsnare have been off the Indian metal scene for a while. A few years ago they were the big Indian metal act riding the wave of their I-Rock 2004 win and a 4-track EP called A Preliminary Quest. But like most Indian bands, they went into prolonged hibernation supported by what I can only assume to be heroic procrastination.
But they’re back. And they’ve signed to the Sahil Makhija (aka The Demonstealer) owned Demonstealer Records. And their full length debut titled Condition: Human will release September 19. The band will play gigs in Mumbai and Delhi to launch the album. According to the press release
Myndsnare has come a long way since it started as a solo project in 2000 and when it was called ‘Mindsnare’. The band went through many line changes and has finally finished work on their long await debut album ‘Conditioned Human’. The album features brilliant cover art by Pratik Kamat and inlay work by Prasad. Musically the band practically pioneered the technical metal movement in India with their complex song structures and odd time riffs. Yasmin has proved herself to be one of the best metal drummers this country has produced. KP’s fierce riffing and hoarse vocals along with the precise bass playing of Sandesh really makes this album one of the best technical thrash/death albums to every be released by an Indian band.
Fair enough, though I’m not sure many vocalists like to describe themselves as hoarse.
Head downstairs for the album cover and tracklist.
