THE JUICE TO TOUR INDIA

The Juice are an indie rock act from London, England. They’ve been around since 2003 playing shows in London and are now getting ready for a mini-tour of India.

The band’s dates are

3rd Jan - Cafe Morrison Delhi
4th Jan - Zero Degree Lucknow
7th Jan - High Spirits Pune
8th Jan - Blue Frog Mumbai

The Juice released their debut album Blood For Water in Apr ‘07. The band’s Kuwait born Indian-Portugese frontman Jay Serrao reputedly “has a voice that could curdle milk with its power”. We’re set to take him up on that offer. Interview soon.

BLACK LIPS TO TOUR INDIA?

The rumours have been floating around for a while, but now finally it seems as if something solid may be happening in the Black Lips India tour direction. A new music event is being organised in Navi Mumbai and intends to bring the US post-punk band to India in addition to some top Indian regulars. The event will be one of a (undecided) number of shows the band will play in India around January. An interview with Stranded In Stereo confirms the same.

Black Lips are also getting ready to release their fifth studio album 200 Million Thousand. Their ‘07 release Good Bad Not Evil (Vice Records) received much praise and their live shows are known to be pretty crazy.

DOWNLOAD: ‘WHAT SHE CAME FOR (LIVE)’ - FRANZ FERDINAND

Franz Ferdinand are getting ready for the Republic Day (Jan 26, ‘09) release of their new album Tonight: Franz Ferdinand. The Scottish band’s much anticipated third release promises to feature more of the same angular Ferdinand madness we have come to know and love.

‘What She Came For’ is a song from Tonight. It’s disco-funk post punk at its best. This live version features frontman Alex Kapranos bringing his A-game swagger to a pub setting. It’s catchy, crisp and just a tad sinister.
