Kolkata rock vets Skinny Alley are giving away all their published music as free downloads. The band has made available music from their two studio albums – 2003’s Escape The Roar, and 2007’s Songs From The Moony Boom – along with a collection of previously unreleased demos called Retroguessing.
Retroguessing is very early Alley work and sees them entirely different to the band we know today. The ’80s pop inspiration is more than obvious, accentuated by the hair/glam keys (programmed by frontlady Jayashree Singh herself). Very kvlt. Like the recently unearthed Cusp demos, you should have these.
She told us
(These are) Skinny Alley’s first set of tunes, written but never recorded or performed. And then our whole direction changed and these songs went into cold storage. These demos were unearthed a couple of weeks ago during some hectic spring cleaning! We are going to revive these songs and perform them on the 19th at Big Ben, here in Kolkata, in a show called, of course, Retroguessing!
Download all the songs on the band’s official Bandcamp page.
More Skinny Alley.
