Yes, Them Clones were once a kvlt band. So you thought ‘Zephyretta’ was the sappy-est Clones ballad? Enter ‘Wait For Me’.
If Love. Hate. Heroes is a collection of A-sides, ‘Wait For Me’ is definitely a Z-side. And then there’s this video. There’s so much going on in the four minutes you are about to watch that you might miss some of it. So here’s a list:
- There has to be more to the opening ‘and the Party ended….’ screen than just a statement of a party getting over
- The first 27 seconds of this video is soundtracked to ‘Nothing Else Matters’ (Metallica). And you thought the Clones were all about RATM.
- The voice-over “Hey guys, the gentleman wants one last song” is like, uber-creepy right?
- As the band returns to play ‘one last song’ for the ‘gentleman’ (whose cocktail looks like a glass of Rooh Afza with a slice of lime), he begins his flashback.
- The flashback is basically an early ’90s Hollywood rom-com styled montage of giggling, hand-holding, walking around. The ‘kiss’ at 1:20 is, well, let’s just say that puts most guys in strictly ‘friend’ territory.
- Connaught Place gets some well deserved footage.
- Holy 2:22-2:24 Batman!
- This is a far skinnier Them Clones, with the old lineup.
- There is a love triangle. But is it a love rectangle?
In all its kvlt glory, ‘Wait For Me’.

Where in the world did you dig this up?

Hahahaha. Dude how old is this? Where did you find it? They look so young. It’s brilliant. I love it. Deliciously cheesy.
The scene with the candle blowing out is intense. And when he says “Hey guys, the gentleman wants one last song” he sounds so stoned. The gentleman also looks dukhbhara enough to be found in places like Amber Bar and Restaurant (in CP) doing these kind of things (except he’d be listening to Pankaj Udas instead of Them Clones). Does anyone else think he looks like Sachin Pilot at 1:53? The curly haired girl is cute, though.
Wow. This is priceless =)
