Chennai grunge act Null Friction will release their debut album this July. The southie trio’s MySpace announces that the album, titled Established 1947, will drop next month.
The band has scored a nifty little mini-tour in July with dates in Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune. They’re also bringing on the Indian-ness to their music.
Being inspired by the soils of India, the band has now decided to make use of their deep Indian roots to drive themselves up the ladder. Hence, nowadays they are deeply engrossed in working towards expressing this Indian connection through a more unique and distinct sound.
Right now however this sound is very generic, Silverchair inspired grunge-alt.
Dates
Jul 02 – Hard Rock Cafe, Bangalore
Jul 04 – JRO 2009, Buck’s Theatre, YMCA, Chennai
Jul 21 – Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai
Jul 22 – Hard Rock Cafe, Pune
